Peter Toyne (academic administrator)
Peter Toyne (born 1947, died 2017) was a British academic administrator and geographer. He is primarily known for his significant contributions to higher education management, particularly during a period of substantial change in the UK sector.
Toyne held prominent positions at several universities throughout his career. He served as Vice-Chancellor of Liverpool John Moores University from 1992 to 2007. During his tenure, he oversaw a period of significant growth and transformation for the institution, raising its profile and expanding its academic offerings. Prior to his role at Liverpool John Moores University, Toyne was Principal of Chichester College of Technology.
