Mike Douglas (filmmaker)
Mike Douglas (born Michael Douglas, 1968) is an American filmmaker, primarily known for his documentary films. His work often explores themes of activism, music, and social justice.
Douglas co-founded the production company, Public Record, with Chris Wilcha. Public Record has produced numerous critically acclaimed documentaries, often in collaboration with other filmmakers and production companies.
Some of Douglas's notable films include:
- Hunting in Wartime (2007): An Emmy Award-winning documentary that examines the experiences of Native American soldiers in the Iraq War.
- Nas: Time Is Illmatic (2014): A documentary chronicling the making of Nas's debut album, Illmatic. This film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.
- Wheat Belly (2023): A docu-drama on the perceived negative impacts of modern wheat.
Douglas has also worked as a producer on projects such as Finding Joseph I: The HR From Bad Brains Documentary. He resides and works in the United States.
