Ian Smith (rugby league)
Ian Smith is a former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1960s and 1970s. Primarily a centre, he is best known for his time with St. Helens.
Smith played for St. Helens from 1965 to 1978. During his career with the club, he achieved considerable success, including winning the Championship, Challenge Cup, and Lancashire League. He was known for his strong running and tackling abilities. He also represented Lancashire. After leaving St. Helens, he briefly played for Widnes before retiring.
