Epilogue (film)

An epilogue in film, derived from the Greek "epilogos" meaning "concluding words," is a scene or sequence that appears after the main story has concluded, often after the credits roll or just before them. Its purpose is to provide additional information, closure, or commentary on the events of the film.

Epilogues can serve several functions:

• Resolution: They might tie up loose ends, explain the fate of characters after the central conflict, or show the long-term consequences of the story's events.
• Foreshadowing: While less common, an epilogue could hint at future events or sequels.
