Elasmucha

Elasmucha is a genus of shield bugs belonging to the family Acanthosomatidae. These insects are found primarily in the Palearctic region, with several species occurring in Europe and Asia. They are phytophagous, meaning they feed on plant sap, typically from trees and shrubs.

A defining characteristic of Elasmucha species, and of many Acanthosomatidae in general, is parental care of their offspring.
