Cayrac
Cayrac is a hamlet and former commune in the Lot department in southwestern France. On 1 January 2016, it was merged into the new commune Barguelonne-en-Quercy. Cayrac is situated approximately 25 kilometers southwest of Cahors, the department's prefecture. The area is primarily agricultural, characterized by rolling hills and wooded areas typical of the Quercy region. Historically, the village has been a small agricultural community, its fortunes tied to the land and local farming practices. The church of Saint-Jean-Baptiste is a notable feature, representative of local religious architecture.
