Bob Joyce (baseball)
Robert "Bob" Joyce (born February 22, 1958) is a former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the San Diego Padres in 1986 and for the California Angels in 1987.
Joyce was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 18th round of the 1980 MLB Draft. Primarily a relief pitcher, he made his major league debut on July 12, 1986, for the Padres. He appeared in a total of 12 games for San Diego that season, recording a 1-0 record with a 4.91 ERA.
In 1987, Joyce was traded to the California Angels. He played in 18 games for the Angels, finishing with a 0-1 record and a 5.27 ERA. This was his final season in the major leagues.
After his MLB career, Joyce continued to pitch in the minor leagues.
