Barry Davis (wrestler)
Barry Davis (born September 17, 1961) is a retired American freestyle wrestler. He competed in three Olympic Games, winning a silver medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. He also competed at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul and the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona.
Davis was a four-time NCAA All-American for the University of Iowa, winning the NCAA Division I championship in 1982, 1983, and 1985. He was coached by Dan Gable at Iowa. He was also a four-time Big Ten Conference champion.
After his wrestling career, Davis worked as a wrestling coach. He has coached at several universities, including the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Lehigh University. He is considered one of the most successful American freestyle wrestlers of all time.
