Woodford Town F.C. (1937)
Woodford Town F.C. (1937) was an English association football club based in Woodford, Essex (now part of Greater London). The club was formed in 1937, inheriting the name and ground of a previous Woodford Town club that had existed earlier in the 20th century.
The club competed in various leagues, including the Athenian League and the Isthmian League. Their period of greatest success came in the Athenian League during the 1960s and 1970s.
Woodford Town F.C. (1937) dissolved in 1993 due to financial difficulties and ground issues. The club's demise left a gap in local football provision. A successor club, Woodford Town F.C., was later formed to carry on the legacy, although not directly affiliated with the 1937 club.
