Tuy River
The Tuy River is a significant river in Venezuela. It flows generally eastward across north-central Venezuela, draining a large valley area south of Caracas, the nation's capital. The Tuy River's watershed is heavily populated and industrialized, leading to significant water quality challenges, including pollution from sewage and industrial waste. The river serves as a critical water source for the region, but requires extensive water treatment efforts to make it potable. The Tuy River eventually empties into the Caribbean Sea. It plays an important role in agriculture and industry within the Tuy River valley.
