Ollmuth
Ollmuth is a defunct town located in Jefferson County, Missouri, United States. It was situated along the Mississippi River, and its existence predates the Civil War. Historically, Ollmuth served as a river port and a small trading center for the surrounding agricultural area. The town’s population was never substantial, and its decline began in the late 19th and early 20th centuries due to factors such as changes in transportation methods (railroads surpassing river traffic) and economic shifts. Little remains of Ollmuth today, and it is considered a ghost town. Historical records regarding the town are relatively scarce, contributing to its obscurity.
