John Dodson (judge)
John Dodson is a judge serving on the Louisiana First Circuit Court of Appeal. He was elected to the court in 2012 and re-elected in 2022. Prior to his service on the appellate court, Dodson served as a judge on the 22nd Judicial District Court, handling both civil and criminal cases. He was elected to that position in 1996.
Judge Dodson received his Juris Doctor degree from Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center and his Bachelor of Arts degree from Southeastern Louisiana University. He has been involved in various legal and community organizations throughout his career. His judicial philosophy is generally regarded as conservative.
