Dan Iuga

Dan Iuga (born November 23, 1945, Timișoara, Romania) is a Romanian former sport shooter. He is best known for his achievements in pistol shooting, particularly in the 50 meter pistol event.

Iuga represented Romania in five Olympic Games: 1964 (Tokyo), 1968 (Mexico City), 1972 (Munich), 1976 (Montreal), and 1980 (Moscow). While he did not win an Olympic medal, he consistently placed among the top competitors. He earned a silver medal at the 1970 World Championships in Phoenix, Arizona, in the 50 meter pistol event. He also secured multiple medals at European Championships and other international shooting competitions.

Beyond his competitive career, Iuga has been involved in coaching and promoting the sport of shooting in Romania. He is recognized as a significant figure in the history of Romanian shooting sports.
