Yngling (keelboat)

The Yngling is a one-design class of sailing keelboat designed by Norwegian Jan Herman Linge in 1967. It is a smaller version of the larger Dragon class, also designed by Linge. Intended as a training boat and family day-sailer, the Yngling gained popularity as a racing boat, particularly for women's teams.

The boat is a sloop-rigged keelboat with a single mast and mainsail, jib, and spinnaker. It's known for its stability and responsiveness, making it suitable for a range of sailing conditions. The hull is typically made of fiberglass.

The Yngling was selected as the Women's Keelboat event for the 2004 and 2008 Summer Olympic Games. However, it was subsequently replaced by other classes. Despite no longer being an Olympic class, it remains an active and competitive class worldwide, with national and international regattas held regularly.
