William Lipscomb (writer)
William Lipscomb (1907-1985) was an American screenwriter and playwright. He is best known for his work on historical dramas and adaptations. He received an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay for Mrs. Miniver (1942) and another for Random Harvest (1942). Other notable screenwriting credits include A Tale of Two Cities (1935), David Copperfield (1935), Camille (1936), and The Picture of Dorian Gray (1945). His work often involved adapting classic literature for the screen.
