William Henry Draper (congressman)
William Henry Draper (June 20, 1841 – May 26, 1911) was a Republican politician from New York. He served as a U.S. Representative for the state's 21st congressional district from 1893 to 1895.
Born in Hinsdale, Massachusetts, Draper received his education at Williston Seminary in Easthampton, Massachusetts. He later moved to Troy, New York, where he engaged in mercantile pursuits.
Draper's political career began with local offices. He was elected as a supervisor of the city of Troy and later served as president of the Troy Young Men's Association.
In 1892, Draper was elected to the 53rd United States Congress, representing New York's 21st district. During his single term, he served on the Committee on Patents. He was not a candidate for renomination in 1894.
Following his congressional service, Draper resumed his business activities in Troy. He also became involved in banking. He died in Troy, New York, and is buried in Oakwood Cemetery.
