William Carlton (cricketer)
William Carlton (born 23 November 1878, date of death unknown) was an English cricketer who played first-class cricket for Derbyshire in 1900 and 1901.
Carlton was born in Clay Cross, Derbyshire. He made his debut for Derbyshire in the 1900 season against Essex when he scored 14 in his first innings. He played five further matches in the 1900 season achieving a top score of 20 against Lancashire. He played only one match in the 1901 season against Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) and failed to score.
Carlton was a right-handed batsman and played 7 innings in 6 first-class matches with a top score of 20 and an average of 6.00.
