Weston railway station (Lincolnshire)
Weston railway station was a railway station serving the village of Weston, Lincolnshire, England. It was situated on the former Great Northern Railway line between Lincoln and Spalding.
History
The station opened in 1848 as part of the Lincoln to Spalding line. It was a relatively small, rural station, serving the local agricultural community. Details regarding its specific architecture and facilities are currently limited. The station closed to passengers in [[1960|1960]] as part of the Beeching Axe cuts. The line itself subsequently closed, though parts have seen some limited re-use or proposals for re-opening. Further research is needed to establish the precise date of the station's closure to goods traffic, if applicable.
Present Day
The station building and associated structures are no longer extant. The railway line itself has been largely dismantled, and the site is now likely incorporated into surrounding land uses. Precise details of the present-day use of the former station site require further investigation.
