Well Kept Secret (Juice Newton album)

Well Kept Secret is the eighth studio album by American pop and country singer Juice Newton. It was released in June 1985 by RCA Records.

Well Kept Secret marked a shift in Newton's sound, incorporating more contemporary pop and rock elements while retaining some of her signature country influences. The album's production was handled by Richard Landis, who had previously worked with Newton on her successful album Quiet Lies.

While Well Kept Secret did not achieve the same level of commercial success as some of Newton's earlier albums, it produced several singles. The lead single, "You Didn't Mean to Hurt Me," reached the top 20 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart. Other singles released from the album included "Old Flame (New Love)" and "Emotion."

The album also included covers of songs by other artists, such as John Stewart's "Lost Her in the Sun" and "Tell Her No," originally by The Zombies.

Well Kept Secret received generally positive reviews, with critics praising Newton's vocal performance and the album's overall production quality. However, some reviewers felt that the album lacked the consistency and strong material of her previous work.

Despite not being a major commercial hit, Well Kept Secret remains a notable entry in Juice Newton's discography and reflects her experimentation with different musical styles during the mid-1980s.
