Victor Davis Hanson is an American military historian, classicist, columnist, and political commentator. He is a Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University, and a recipient of the National Humanities Medal.

Hanson is known for his work on ancient Greek warfare, history, and culture, particularly his analysis of hoplite warfare and the decline of the Greek polis. He has written extensively on agrarianism, Western civilization, and contemporary political issues. His writing often draws parallels between historical events and contemporary challenges.
