USS Kern

The USS Kern was a United States Navy troop transport ship commissioned during World War II. She was a Victory ship, specifically a VC2-S-AP5 type, laid down as Cape Mordecai under a Maritime Commission contract. The ship was renamed Kern and designated APA-270 before launching.
