Background

The main event featured a light heavyweight bout between Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and Matt Hamill. Originally, the main event was slated to be a UFC Lightweight Championship bout between Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard, but the fight was postponed due to injuries sustained by both fighters. The Jackson vs. Hamill bout was then elevated to the main event slot. Several other notable fights were featured on the card.
