Tony O'Malley (musician)

Tony O'Malley (1948 – 7 March 2024) was a British jazz, blues, and soul singer, pianist, and composer. He was best known as a member of the bands Kokomo and 10cc.

O'Malley was born in Harrow, Middlesex, England. He began his professional music career in the late 1960s, playing in various bands and working as a session musician. In the early 1970s, he joined Kokomo, a British soul band known for its energetic live performances and featuring a large ensemble of musicians. Kokomo released two albums in the 1970s and toured extensively.

After Kokomo disbanded, O'Malley pursued a solo career and also worked with a number of other artists. He joined 10cc briefly in the early 1980s, appearing on their album Ten Out of 10.

O'Malley released several solo albums throughout his career, showcasing his talents as a singer, songwriter, and keyboard player. His music often blended elements of jazz, blues, soul, and funk. He was known for his distinctive vocals, piano playing, and songwriting. He also worked extensively as a session musician and producer.

He passed away on March 7, 2024, after a short illness.
