Thomas Welch (American football)

Thomas Welch (born October 28, 1987) is a former American football offensive tackle. He played college football at Vanderbilt University and was drafted by the New England Patriots in the seventh round of the 2010 NFL Draft.

College Career:

Welch played college football for the Vanderbilt Commodores from 2006 to 2009. He was a four-year starter and earned All-Southeastern Conference (SEC) honors. He was known for his size and strength as a run blocker.

Professional Career:

Welch was drafted by the New England Patriots with the 208th overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. He was later waived by the Patriots and signed to the Buffalo Bills' practice squad. He subsequently played for the Washington Redskins, where he was active for several games. He also spent time with the St. Louis Rams and New Orleans Saints, primarily as a backup offensive lineman. Welch’s NFL career spanned several seasons, but he was not a consistent starter.
