Thomas Lamb (industrial designer)
Thomas Lamb (born c. 1963) is an American industrial designer and educator known for his work in furniture, lighting, and product design. He is recognized for his minimalist aesthetic, emphasis on sustainable materials and manufacturing processes, and exploration of innovative forms and functions.
Lamb received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Industrial Design from the Rhode Island School of Design. He established his own design studio, Thomas Lamb Design, in New York City. His work has been exhibited internationally and is included in the permanent collections of several museums.
Lamb’s designs are often characterized by their simplicity, elegance, and functionality. He frequently incorporates wood, metal, and glass into his creations, striving to balance form and material integrity. Sustainability is a core principle in his design philosophy, leading him to prioritize the use of recycled or renewable materials and to develop products that are durable and long-lasting.
