Telmex

Telmex (Teléfonos de México, S.A.B. de C.V.) is a Mexican telecommunications company headquartered in Mexico City. Telmex provides telecommunications products and services in Mexico, including fixed-line telephony, mobile telephony (through its América Móvil subsidiary), broadband internet, data services, and IT solutions.

Founded in 1947 as a state-owned monopoly, Telmex was privatized in 1990 and acquired by Grupo Carso, a conglomerate controlled by Carlos Slim. Following privatization, Telmex modernized its infrastructure and expanded its services significantly.
