Spladle
Spladle is a wrestling technique, particularly common in folkstyle wrestling, where a wrestler secures a pinning combination by trapping one of their opponent's legs between their own legs and simultaneously using a cross-body grapevine (hooking one of their opponent's arms or shoulders with their own leg). The position creates significant leverage and pressure, making it difficult for the opponent to escape being pinned. The spladle is considered a high-risk, high-reward maneuver, as a failed attempt can often leave the attacker in a vulnerable position. The move aims to force the opponent's shoulders to the mat for a pin. The term is also sometimes used more generally to describe similar pinning combinations with leg entanglements.
