Southern Air (album)
Southern Air is the third studio album by American rock band Yellowcard. It was released on August 14, 2012, through Hopeless Records. The album marks a return to a more guitar-driven sound for Yellowcard, following the more experimental When You're Through Thinking, Say Yes. Southern Air was produced by Neal Avron, who previously worked with the band on their albums Ocean Avenue and Lights and Sounds.
The album's title refers to the band's experiences and feelings about recording in Southern California and their connections to the South in general. The lyrical themes explore themes of love, loss, and nostalgia.
Southern Air spawned the singles "Here I Am Alive" featuring Taylor Jardine of We Are the In Crowd, and "Always Summer." The album received generally positive reviews from critics, with many praising the band's return to form and the overall energy of the record. It charted on the Billboard 200, reaching a peak position of number 10.
