Siri Berg
Siri Berg (1921-2020) was a Swedish-born American abstract artist known for her minimalist geometric paintings, prints, and sculptures. Her work explored color theory, often utilizing a limited palette of black, white, and primary colors, as well as the interaction between form and space.
Born in Stockholm, Sweden, Berg immigrated to the United States in the 1940s. She studied at the Pratt Institute in New York City, where she later taught for many years. Berg's artistic career spanned several decades, during which she developed a distinctive style characterized by clean lines, geometric shapes, and a focus on the fundamental elements of art.
Berg's work has been exhibited extensively in the United States and internationally, including at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C., and the Brooklyn Museum.
