Simon Donnelly (Irish republican)
Simon Donnelly was an Irish republican activist and member of the Provisional Irish Republican Army (IRA). He was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and became involved in republican paramilitarism during the Troubles. He rose through the ranks of the IRA, reportedly becoming a prominent figure in its Belfast Brigade.
Donnelly was allegedly involved in numerous bombings and shootings during the conflict. He was arrested and imprisoned several times for his activities. Information about specific operations he participated in remains limited due to the secretive nature of the organization and the passage of time.
Following the Good Friday Agreement in 1998, Donnelly was released from prison. While he largely withdrew from active paramilitarism, he remained associated with republican circles. Details of his life after the peace process are scarce.
