Shrink (TV series)

Shrink is an American comedy web television series created by Tim Baltz, Ted Tremper, and David Smith. The series premiered on NBC's streaming service, Seeso, on March 16, 2017. After Seeso shut down, the series was acquired by NBCUniversal's new streaming service, Peacock.

Shrink follows David Tracey (played by Tim Baltz), a medical school graduate who, after being denied his residency, takes a job as an unlicensed therapist. Due to a loophole in his medical school’s insurance policy, he can practice therapy as long as he does it for free. David's lack of experience and training leads to unconventional and often humorous approaches to helping his patients, as well as navigating his own personal life and struggles.

The show utilizes a mockumentary style, with characters often breaking the fourth wall to address the camera. The series explores themes of mental health, personal growth, and the challenges of early adulthood, often with a comedic bent. The cast includes Tim Baltz, Aidy Bryant, John Milhiser, and Brett Gelman, among others. The series received generally positive reviews, praised for its writing and performances.
