Savosa

Savosa is a village and former municipality in the district of Lugano in the canton of Ticino, Switzerland.

History:

Savosa was first mentioned in 1335 as Savoxa. In 2013, the municipality was incorporated into the neighboring municipality of Lugano. Prior to this merger, Savosa was an independent municipality with its own local government.

Geography:

Savosa is situated in the Collina d'Oro region, near Lugano. Its geographical location contributed to its historical and economic ties to the larger city.

Demographics:

Historically, the population of Savosa fluctuated. Before its incorporation into Lugano, demographic data was collected and maintained separately.
