SM UC-11

SM UC-11 was a German Type UC I minelaying submarine (U-boat) built for the Imperial German Navy during World War I. She was commissioned on 20 July 1915.

UC-11 had a displacement of 168 tons when at the surface and 182 tons when submerged. She measured 33.99 meters (111 ft 6 in) in overall length, with a beam of 3.15 meters (10 ft 4 in) and a draft of 3.04 meters (10 ft). The boat was powered by a 90 metric horsepower (66 kW; 89 shp) Daimler, 6-cylinder diesel engine for surface running, and a 175 metric horsepower (129 kW; 173 shp) electric motor for submerged travel. She had a surface speed of 6.2 knots (11.5 km/h; 7.1 mph) and a submerged speed of 5.22 knots (9.67 km/h; 6.01 mph).

UC-11 was fitted with 6 mine tubes, with 12 UC 200 kilograms (440 lb) mines. She also carried one 8mm machine gun. Her complement was 1 officer and 13 men.

UC-11 was sunk on 26 June 1918 in the English Channel, near the Goodwin Sands, after being rammed by HMS Lychnis. There were no survivors.
