Robert Windsor-Clive (MP)

Robert Windsor-Clive (1824 – 1859) was a British Conservative politician. He served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Ludlow from 1852 until his death in 1859.

Born Robert Clive, he was the son of the Hon. Robert Henry Clive, second son of Edward Clive, 1st Earl of Powis, and Harriet Hickman. He assumed the surname of Windsor-Clive by Royal Licence in 1839.

In Parliament, Windsor-Clive was a consistent supporter of Conservative policies. He did not hold any government office.

He married Lady Mary Fitzalan-Howard, daughter of Henry Fitzalan-Howard, 13th Duke of Norfolk, in 1852. They had one child, Robert Windsor-Clive, 1st Earl of Plymouth.

Robert Windsor-Clive died in January 1859 at the age of 34. His son, Robert, was later created Earl of Plymouth in 1905.
