Robert Parker (singer)

Robert Parker (October 14, 1930 – January 19, 2020) was an American R&B singer and musician from New Orleans, Louisiana. He is best known for his 1965 hit single "Barefootin'," which reached number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Parker began his musical career playing saxophone in various New Orleans bands. He recorded several singles in the early 1960s before achieving mainstream success with "Barefootin'." The song became a popular dance tune and helped define the sound of New Orleans R&B.
