Rick Mast

Rick Mast (born February 11, 1957, in Rockbridge Baths, Virginia) is a former NASCAR driver. He competed in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series (now NASCAR Cup Series) from 1988 to 2002.

Mast began his racing career in local dirt track racing. He progressed through the NASCAR ranks, making his Busch Series (now Xfinity Series) debut in 1983. He achieved moderate success in the Busch Series before moving to the Winston Cup Series.

In the Winston Cup Series, Mast drove for several different teams, including RahMoc Enterprises, Richard Jackson Motorsports, and A.J. Foyt Racing. He was known for his consistency and ability to bring his car home in one piece. Though he never won a Cup Series race, he achieved several top-five and top-ten finishes. His best career finish was third, which he achieved twice.

Mast's career was cut short due to health issues. He experienced problems with carbon monoxide poisoning during races, which ultimately led to his retirement from full-time racing in 2002. After retiring, he remained involved in racing as a car owner and mentor to young drivers.
