Richard Wild (judge)

Richard Wild is a Judge of the High Court of New Zealand. He was appointed on 27 May 2021, taking silk as a Queen's Counsel immediately prior to his appointment. He is based in Auckland.

Prior to his appointment, Wild practiced as a barrister specializing in criminal law. His practice included a significant number of high-profile criminal cases. He was frequently appointed as counsel assisting inquiries, particularly in the context of the Inquiries Act 2013.
