RPM (TV series)

RPM, also known as Power Rangers RPM, is the seventeenth season of the American television program Power Rangers. It was broadcast on ABC Kids in 2009.

Power Rangers RPM is an adaptation of the Japanese Super Sentai series Engine Sentai Go-onger, which aired in 2008. The series is set in a post-apocalyptic future where a sentient computer virus named Venjix has conquered most of the Earth. Humanity has retreated to the domed city of Corinth, which is defended by the Power Rangers RPM team.

The Rangers are recruited and trained by Doctor K, a reclusive genius who created the Ranger technology. The team consists of:

• Scott Truman/Red Ranger: A former Air Force pilot and the son of Colonel Truman.
• Flynn McAllistair/Blue Ranger: A kind-hearted and mechanically gifted optimist.
• Summer Landsdown/Yellow Ranger: A spoiled heiress who learns the value of sacrifice and responsibility.
• Ziggy Grover/Green Ranger: A reformed con artist seeking redemption.
• Dillon/Black Ranger: A mysterious drifter with robotic implants and amnesia, later revealed to be the brother of Tenaya 7.

The primary antagonists are Venjix, his generals (including the robotic General Shifter and General Crunch), and the human-like robot Tenaya 7.

Power Rangers RPM is known for its darker tone and more mature themes compared to previous seasons of Power Rangers, exploring themes of loss, sacrifice, and the rebuilding of society after a devastating catastrophe. It is often considered one of the best seasons in the Power Rangers franchise by fans. The series uses a vehicle-based motif, with the Rangers' Zords being modeled after different types of automobiles and construction vehicles.
