Poppy (singer)

Poppy, born Moriah Rose Pereira (January 1, 1995), is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and YouTuber. She is known for her avant-garde artistic style, her experimental music blending pop, electronic, metal, and ambient elements, and her often surreal and unsettling YouTube content.

Poppy rose to prominence in the mid-2010s with a series of videos on YouTube featuring her alongside Titanic Sinclair (Corey Mixter), who served as her creative director. These early videos often featured repetitive phrases, abstract imagery, and commentary on internet culture, blurring the lines between performance art and entertainment. This era of her career saw the release of her debut album, Poppy.Computer (2017), which established her as a rising pop artist with a distinct and unconventional image.

Subsequent albums, including Am I a Girl? (2018), I Disagree (2020), Flux (2021), and Zig (2023), showcased Poppy's evolving musical style and her increasing incorporation of heavier genres such as metal and nu-metal. These albums received critical acclaim for their innovative sound and exploration of themes such as identity, control, and technology.

Beyond music and YouTube, Poppy has also ventured into acting, appearing in television series and films. She has also written and released her own comic book series, Genesis 1.

In late 2019, Poppy publicly severed her professional relationship with Titanic Sinclair, citing manipulative and abusive behavior.
