Pit bike

A pit bike, also commonly called a mini bike or dirt bike, is a small off-road motorcycle originally intended for use in the pit areas of motorsport events. Initially, they served as a convenient mode of transportation for racers and mechanics to navigate the pit area of race tracks. Over time, pit bikes evolved into recreational vehicles enjoyed by riders of all ages and skill levels.

Pit bikes typically feature a smaller engine displacement than full-sized motocross bikes, generally ranging from 50cc to 190cc. They also have smaller wheels and a lower seat height, making them more manageable for smaller riders or those seeking a less intimidating riding experience.

While originally simple and utilitarian, modern pit bikes are available in a wide range of styles and performance levels. Some models are designed for recreational trail riding, while others are built for competitive racing on dedicated pit bike tracks. Features can include upgraded suspension, more powerful engines, and various aftermarket modifications to enhance performance and handling.

It is important to note that pit bikes, due to their smaller size and off-road nature, are often not street legal and are intended for use on private property or designated off-road riding areas. Local regulations regarding their use should be consulted prior to operation.
