Pareora (New Zealand electorate)

Pareora was a former parliamentary electorate in the South Island of New Zealand. It existed for two periods, from 1866 to 1870 and again from 1881 to 1890. Located in the Canterbury region, its boundaries shifted somewhat during its two incarnations, generally covering areas south of Timaru.

During its first existence, Pareora returned two Members of Parliament (MPs) to the House of Representatives. William Travers was the first representative, followed by Edward Cephas John Stevens.

The electorate was re-established in 1881. Representatives during this period included John Hayhurst and John McGregor. The electorate was abolished in 1890, with its territory largely being absorbed into the new Levels electorate.
