PFR (band)
PFR was an American contemporary Christian pop rock band formed in 1989 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The band's name is an acronym for Pray For Rain.
PFR released five studio albums, achieving significant success in the Christian music market during the 1990s. Their music was characterized by catchy melodies, thoughtful lyrics often addressing themes of faith, doubt, and social issues, and a sophisticated pop/rock sound influenced by bands like The Beatles and Crowded House.
The band's members included:
- Joel Hanson (vocals, guitar, keyboards)
- Patrick Andrew (bass, vocals)
- Mark Nash (drums, percussion)
PFR gained popularity with songs such as "Greatest Story Ever Told," "Wonder Why," "Anything," "Pour Me Out," and "Last Great Act." Their albums consistently charted on Billboard's Top Contemporary Christian charts.
After a period of inactivity, the band reunited in 2005 for a reunion tour and released a new album, PFR, in 2005. They have since played occasional shows.
