Nina Wang
Nina Wang (王如心) (1937 – April 3, 2007), also known as "Little Sweetie" (小甜甜), was a Hong Kong businesswoman and at one point, Asia's richest woman. She was the chairwoman of Chinachem Group, a major Hong Kong property developer founded by her husband, Teddy Wang.
After her husband's kidnapping and presumed death in 1999, Nina Wang became embroiled in a lengthy and highly publicized legal battle with her father-in-law, Wang Din-shin, over control of Teddy Wang's multi-billion dollar estate. The central issue revolved around Teddy Wang's will. Nina Wang ultimately won the case in 2005.
Following her victory, Nina Wang continued to lead Chinachem Group. However, her later years were marked by further legal disputes concerning the ultimate beneficiary of her own vast fortune. Her will leaving her estate to charity was challenged, leading to another high-profile court case. The courts ultimately upheld the validity of her charitable trust.
Nina Wang's life was characterized by business acumen, personal tragedy, and legal battles over immense wealth, making her a prominent and controversial figure in Hong Kong's history.
