Neste (river)

The Neste is a river located in the French Pyrenees, within the region of Occitanie. It is a tributary of the Garonne River. The name "Neste" is of Pyrenean origin, predating Roman influence in the area.

The Neste river system is composed of several branches, each often referred to individually as a "Neste." Principal tributaries include:

• Neste d'Aure: Originating in the Néouvielle massif.
• Neste du Louron: Flowing from the Louron valley.
• Neste de Saux: Joining the others near Arreau.

These branches converge to form the main Neste river, which then flows northwards before joining the Garonne near Montréjeau.
