Nagao Station (Saga)

Nagao Station (長尾駅, Nagao-eki) is a railway station on the Karatsu Line in Karatsu, Saga Prefecture, Japan. It is operated by JR Kyushu.

The station has a single side platform serving a single bi-directional track. The station building is a small, simple structure located adjacent to the platform.

History:

The station opened on December 15, 1898, as a station on the Karatsu Kōgyō Railway (唐津興業鉄道). The railway was later nationalized on October 1, 1907, and the station became part of the Japanese Government Railways (JGR). With the privatization of Japanese National Railways (JNR) on April 1, 1987, the station came under the control of JR Kyushu.
