Matter (video game)
Matter is an unreleased first-person exploration puzzle video game developed by Camp Santo and published by Panic. Initially revealed at The Game Awards in 2017, very little information has been publicly released about the game's plot or mechanics beyond its focus on exploration and solving environmental puzzles within a surreal and stylized world. The game's visual style is characterized by its vibrant colors and geometric shapes.
The game was initially slated to be a collaboration between Campo Santo, known for Firewatch, and Panic, its publisher. Following Valve's acquisition of Campo Santo in 2018, development on Matter became uncertain. As of late 2023, the game remains officially unreleased, with no further announcements or updates from Valve or Panic regarding its development status. The project is widely considered to be in development hell or potentially canceled.
