Marshall Rogers (basketball)

Marshall Rogers (born August 27, 1953, in Dallas, Texas, died October 24, 1999, in Dallas, Texas) was an American professional basketball player. A 6'1" (1.85 m) guard, he played college basketball at Saint Mary's University and professionally in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the Continental Basketball Association (CBA).

Rogers was selected by the Golden State Warriors in the first round (13th overall) of the 1976 NBA Draft. He played for the Warriors (1976โ€“1978), Kansas City Kings (1978โ€“1979), and New York Knicks (1979โ€“1980). He also played in the CBA for the Anchorage Northern Knights.

Rogers' NBA career spanned four seasons, during which he was known for his scoring ability and quickness. His best season was with the Kansas City Kings in 1978-79, where he averaged 9.3 points per game.

After his basketball career, Rogers reportedly worked in various fields and struggled with personal issues. He died at the age of 46.
