Luke Scott (director)

Luke Scott is a British film director primarily known for his work in science fiction and action genres. He is the son of director Ridley Scott and advertising executive Felicity Heywood.

Scott began his career working in visual effects and as a second unit director on several of his father's films, including Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, Body of Lies, and Robin Hood. This experience provided him with a foundation in large-scale film production and visual storytelling.

He made his directorial debut with the short film Loom (2012), a science fiction piece focusing on genetic engineering. His feature film debut was Morgan (2016), a science fiction thriller exploring the dangers of artificial intelligence, starring Kate Mara and Anya Taylor-Joy. While Morgan received mixed reviews, it established Scott as a director willing to engage with complex themes within the sci-fi genre.

He has also directed episodes of the science fiction television series Raised by Wolves, which his father executive produced and directed the first two episodes of. Luke Scott directed several episodes across the series' two seasons.

His work often explores themes of artificial intelligence, genetic engineering, and the ethical implications of advanced technology. He has demonstrated a visual style that echoes his father's, emphasizing strong imagery and atmosphere, but with his own distinct approach to narrative.
