Linones
Linones refers to a hypothetical class of organic chemical compounds that are the polymeric forms of linone. A linone, in turn, would be a theoretical organic monomer containing a specific structural motif which, when repeated and linked, would create the polylinone, or the class of compounds referred to as linones. The exact chemical structure and properties of linones would depend entirely on the structure of the linone monomer from which they are derived. Without a defined linone monomer, specifying properties or applications for linones is impossible. The study of linones, should a linone monomer be identified and polymerized, would fall under the purview of polymer chemistry and materials science. The properties of a linone would be largely determined by the intermolecular forces present in the polymer, the molecular weight of the polymer, and the regularity of the polymer chain.
