Libertad (film)

Libertad is a 2021 Spanish-Belgian drama film directed by Clara Roquet. The film stars Maria Morera Colomer, Nicolle García, Nora Navas, and Carol Hurtado.

The story revolves around a friendship that develops between two teenage girls during a summer vacation. Nora, a shy 14-year-old from Barcelona, spends her summer vacation with her family at their vacation home on the Costa Brava. There, she meets Libertad, the 15-year-old daughter of their Colombian housekeeper. Despite their different backgrounds and social classes, the two girls form a close bond and explore the complexities of their identities, social differences, and the meaning of freedom. The film explores themes of adolescence, class differences, immigration, and the search for identity.
